"SEVER" on the MCD-lines
For almost two years now on the MCD-lines (a system of city train services on existing commuter rail lines in Moscow and Moscow Oblast, Russia) successfully works an innovative self-propelled track measuring and ultrasonic testing vehicle “SEVER”.
Its uniqueness lies in the fact that it can simultaneously be installed such systems as track measurement system, ultrasonic and magnetic inspection system, laser 3D scanning system, georadar system, overhead catenary parameters monitoring system, control system for objects of automation and telemechanic, radio control system and infrastructures visual control system.
Everyday from 1 a.m. to 6 a.m. “SEVER” is back at work so as not to interfere with the movement of ordinary trains. At night, the diagnosis is carried out with no less accuracy than during the day. All data received from diagnostic systems are analyzed and sent to united control center. The systems installed on the vehicle read out in total over 120 parameters.
Since commissioning, more than 1.6 million pre-failure conditions of the railway infrastructure have been identified and the maintenance crew was called to fix the irregularities to the detected points. Prompt actions of employees allow preventing failures and ensuring the schedule of passenger trains in accordance with the timetable.
